The website offers views of each diamond. Diamonds that are ethically obtained, as well. The selection is grand, as there are a large amount of diamonds to choose from at every price level.

Because of their questionable business ethics and the extremely low importance placed in customer service, we feel the need to warn others.
I wouldn’t throw a word like ‘scam’ around for no reason, but the unethical and deceitful practices they employ along with the refusal to refund our money make a pretty good case for it.

I’m happy to share the contract they sent us in case you’re having trouble believing it I know I would. I’m also happy to share email conversations between us and multiple Brilliant Earth employees that we talked to, where one day conversations were stretched out over weeks due to not getting responses on initial messages and follow-ups.
I wish I would have given more merit to the negative reviews before buying anything from them, but here we are. Also, if you have had a similar experience we would love to hear your story.

He wanted me to pick out my perfect ring, so he borrowed a show ring and put down a deposit with Brilliant Earth. Shortly after the proposal, we went to our appointment at the Brilliant Earth showroom in SF and sat for 45min without getting much help or suggestion on styles I might like.
We finished our appointment without making a selection and left feeling disappointed. We called and emailed a day later but did not get our questions answered and had a lot of trouble contacting the store despite several phone calls and a request for callback which never came.
A few days later, we decided to go with another jeweler and asked for our deposit back. The employee we spoke to over the phone first refused to refund the deposit, accusing us of not returning the show ring which we never even left withthen reluctantly told us it would be refunded in business days but with no email confirmation or anything to track progress.
Over week later, we finally received the deposit back, but the amount refunded was incorrect.
Instead of apologizing, the representative just told us they looked up the wrong order number. It’s been 2 weeks since the proposal and initial appointment and we still haven’t received the full deposit back.
This is not the kind of customer service you expect for such an important purchase.

Brilliant Earth turned the happiest moment of my life into a stressful and unpleasant shopping experience. Thank goodness we found another jeweler check out Yadav at Brannan that changed everything and even managed to make and deliver my ring in under a week at a lower price!!
Don’t waste your time like we did with Brilliant Earth. Buying an engagement ring can be a daunting task. The reason I was sold with Brilliant Earth was because of Rachel.
She provided excellent service and helped me every step of the way. Please give her a raise because she absolutely deserves it!

So I needed to do a little research. Since I know absolutely nothing about engagement rings or ever thought about one in generalI decided to make an appointment at Brilliant Earth since it’s by my office.
I went online the day before and made an appointment for Monday, March 18th at 2pm. I had mentioned when making the appointment that I was interested in looking at a few specific rings.
They did contact me to let me know they didn’t have the specific rings I was looking at, so I could reschedule if I wanted to wait for them to come in.
I said it was fine as I just wanted to look at them.

Liza helped me determine my ring size and sent me an email confirmation afterwards of all the info above. Ultimately, I didn’t get a ring from here, but they were very helpful in the beginning stages of my search.
Thank you Liza for all your help! I would discourage anyone that doesn’t have a ton of time to deal with delays And mistakes from buying a ring from Brilliant Earth.
Most of the sales people were not helpful, and provide rote responses rather than answering questions The delays that were entirely their fault caused problems with my engagement plans, but they wouldn’t do anything to compensate for this, including refusing to expedite the order free of charge.

The only thing they offered was a free gift When I placed my order, they screwed up the shipping 3 times over. I spent half of a business day trying to correct their mistakes and had to leave my office to pick it up urgently because otherwise it was going to be returned to them because of all their mistakes.
I dealt with multiple customer service associates after this who all did nothing. Actually, worse than nothing, because they strung me along with promises that they were going to do something about the experience, but then there was never any follow through.

Brilliant Earth prides itself on design and sourcing. Their designs really are well done; when I looked at other websites and stores afterwards, they mostly seemed unimpressive in comparison.
Not only is there a nice variety of vintage, modern, etc. As for sourcing, they offer a range of diamonds and gemstones.

She was also very informative about all the other practical details like how to care for the ring, insurance, etc. She jotted down notes and followed-up through email afterwards.
At the end of the day, we decided not to go with Brilliant Earth because it came down to price point. Although I love many things about Brilliant Earth, everything seems a bit pricey.
The lab-created vs natural is an age-old question I personally prefer lab-created but I intuitively feel like it should be less expensive.
If it’s like chocolate, then I guess fair-trade is cheaper than cacao with exploitative labor practices; if it’s like medications, then synthetic compounds are definitely more cost-effective than the tidbits extracted from plant material.

Not to be snarky, but I can’t get over my chemical mindset that it seems rather expensive for some carbon and metal. I’m so happy I went with Brilliant Earth for my engagement ring.
The service specifically Jeremy Dugas is top notch, the prices are excellent, and the ring is stunningly gorgeous. I came upon Brilliant Earth via Google, and used their website to put together a lovely sapphire gemstone ring.
After I added the ring to my wish list, I was immediately contacted via email by a consultant, Jeremy Dugas, who helped me to make an appointment with him at their offices in San Francisco.
Jeremy was super helpful and friendly, explaining and showing me the various sapphire and ring options that I might be interested in, as well as giving his honest opinion.
I had originally decided on a premium sapphire, but after the meeting, I decided that a standard sapphire would actually look better with my setting since it reflected light better.
I’d also switched my setting from platinum to white gold due to the lighter metal, when Jeremy explained the difference.
The ring came in the mail just in time for my trip to Hawaii and was even more gorgeous than I imagined. Jeremy stayed in email contact throughout.
